How can you help?
The second wave of COVID19 has hit Israel hard, the severe national lockdown has made things even worse. More people have been furloughed or lost their jobs, most businesses have been forced to close down (many are unlikely to survive the second lockdown).
Now more than ever, during the most strict lockdown restrictions, when people are confined in their small apartments, Beit Hallel sees greater need than ever to help low income families, single mothers quarantined with their small children, elderly who aren’t able to leave their homes to get basic groceries.
This lockdown is really highlighting the needs in our community, and we want to be God’s hand of mercy; to comfort, help, encourage and provide. It’s a crucial time to connect and sow into Beit Hallel humanitarian efforts through our special COVID Relief Fund.
Our teams are working around the clock, putting together food packages and other essentials, bringing it to people’s doorsteps. The gratitude and appreciation coming from people that literally don’t know where their next meal will come from is all the motivation we need to continue reaching out and helping. But we do need your help!
As the need grows, our resources are being stretched during this time. What better time than Sukkot – Feast of Tabernacles, to bring a special thanksgiving offering to the Lord, as it is written in Deuteronomy 16:16-17
“Three times a year all your men must appear before the Lord your God at the place he will choose: at the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks and the Festival of Tabernacles. No one should appear before the Lord empty-handed: Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you.”
Know that your gifts, small or big, help in a real and significant way to those who are struggling the most during these uncertain times. Such as this precious family that arrived in Israel just two weeks ago and have only recently been able to leave their home due to quarantine. They have faced many challenges with their finances due to banking difficulties, while getting caught up in lockdown and quarantine with small children. They were so thankful we were able to reach out and help them when they need it most.

We’re thankful for your care, generosity and prayers for Israel during this time. It’s a tiny country facing big challenges. We pray this nation finds shelter in the Lord – our eternal Tabernacle.
